Winter Wonderskin!

As winter in the UK has its tendencies to drag, I thought I would mention a few useful winter beauty tips which I have tried and tested myself.

This probably sounds like the most peculiar out of all the tips but works like a treat! A key part of our body that suffers in winter are our hands and arms, cover your forearm and hands, from fingertips to elbow in moisturiser. Apply heavily so you look like your wearing body paint, then (here it goes) wrap the whole area in cling film and leave for 20 mins. After this time remove the cling film and rub in any excess and ‘voila’…soft, moisturised skin.

2. When your in the shower after you’ve finished your shower routines, lock in some extra moister by moisturising whilst your skin is still wet, then rinse off, for silky smooth skin.

3. A lot of skin products and hairstyling products are high in alcohol. When alcohol evaporates it feels cool, but it’s stripping away moisture, so try to avoid products containing alcohol.

Strut in Pelle!

I saw someone strutting in Leeds City Centre, and was drawn to her lush boots! Been trying to hunt them down for a while now, but have finally tracked them down in Moda In Pelle. they're £110, but definitely worth it ;)

How to dress like ... Lady GaGa

Lady GaGa was the voted celeb for this weeks ‘How to dress like’. With her 80’s influenced, futuristic/rocky trends, I’ve chosen some more affordable pieces off the high street to replicate this look. My favourite piece has to be the gorgeous studded blazer from Topshop. I love the fact it’s fitted and with the cropped sleeves, can be worn through till spring; for under £50 it’s a must have!

Bodysuit-American Apparel £23, Lace Leggings-Topshop £18, Studded Blazer-Topshop £48, Boots-Ted Baker £145, Belt-River Island £21.52, Gloves-River Island £5.86, Sunglasses-Topshop £15

Veet get’s rid of the Bush and replaces with.....Obama

Many are excited at the thought of the world’s future being in Obama’s hands. It was great to see him on TV, taking the oath in front of millions of viewers. It’s also nice to see that Obama has the support of many brands, including Veet! This quirky ad had me in stitches!

How to dress like......

With a steep passion for fashion, I thought it would be fun to have a 'How to dress like [a celebrity]' day once a fortnight. So every two weeks I’ll be picking a celeb and finding more affordable high street alternatives t0 their style.

Most of us love spying on the celebs, analysing and getting ideas from their looks, (after all they have first hand insight into new styles from the designer houses, fashion shows etc.

If anyone has a liking to a certain celebrities style let us know and we’ll concentrate on that celeb!

New Year, New Me.....

Thank you Carla for your kind comment, I do apologise for being a bit slack on the posting front. I have been dragged under with mountains and mountains of uni work. Been trying to focus on that with it being my final year, though I’m feeling every girl needs a break, so here I am!

Can’t believe another year has gone past already! New Year = resolutions. I’m very good at making New Year resolutions however not so good at keeping them. I think I get too adventurous with making resolutions but struggle to see them through L. This year I have set myself one and hopefully I’ll be better at keeping it. I haven’t been too bad yet (she says 3 weeks into the year), better then nothing I suppose. I’m not sure why I make resolutions as I’m not really a strong believer in forcing change, if you really want to change the way you do something or stop doing something, e.g. eating chocolate, I don’t think you need to use a new year as an excuse to wait.

“A New Year's resolution is something that goes in one year and out the other.”
